One vendor, whole site

Clearing, grinding, grading, and site prep all come from the same crew and the same machines. You don't coordinate three contractors to get one lot ready.

Built for wooded ground

Heavily wooded lots and acreage are the normal job here, not the exception. Skid steers, a forestry mulcher, dozers, excavators, and loaders cover the whole process.

A finish you can build on

The goal on every job is a top-notch finished product: a clean site that's ready for the next phase, whether that's a foundation, a pasture, or just a view.

Straight answers, in writing

We walk the property with you, talk through what you actually need, and put the price and scope on paper so there are no surprises.

Turnkey homesites, start to finish

Builders and property owners hire S5 Earthworks so one call covers the whole lot: trees down, debris ground, ground graded, and a site that's ready to build on. It's the part of the business we're known for, and it works the same on a single homesite as it does on a development.

Turnkey Homesites

Why property owners and builders around Winder call S5

There are a lot of skid steers for hire around Metro Atlanta. Here's what's different about hiring us.

We do more than mulch

Mulching is where a lot of clearing companies stop. We keep going through grinding, grading, and site prep, so the lot is actually usable when we leave.

Sized for the job

Small residential mulching jobs and multi-acre development sites both get the right machine, not the only machine we own.

Family in the trade

I grew up around this industry watching my grandfather, who spent forty years in it. That's the standard I hold our work to.

Clear pricing

Most jobs are priced per project after a site walk. You know the number before a machine is unloaded, and it covers the whole scope we agreed on.

How a job goes

1. Call or send the form

Tell us where the property is and what you're trying to do with it. We'll ask a few questions about the trees, the ground, and the end goal.

2. We walk the site with you

We come out, look at the property together, and talk through scope. Simple mulching jobs can often be priced right there.

3. You get a written price

Jobs with hauling, material, or rock get put together carefully and sent to you itemized, so you can see exactly what's included and approve it.

4. The work gets done

The crew and machines show up, do the work as scoped, and leave you with a finished site ready for whatever comes next.

How we price a job

We price by the project after walking the property with you, so the number covers the whole scope and you know it before a machine is unloaded.

FAQ

What areas does S5 Earthworks serve?

We're based in Winder, GA, and work about 60 to 70 miles in every direction. That covers Barrow, Jackson, Walton, Clarke, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Greene, Banks, Gwinnett, Hall, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Jasper counties. If you're near that range, call and ask.

Do you take small residential jobs, or only big sites?

Both. A one- or two-acre mulching job around a house is a normal day for us, and so is a multi-acre development site. Don't assume your project is too small to call about.

How do you price a job?

Most work is priced by the project, and sometimes by the acre when that makes more sense. We walk the site first. Simple mulching can often be priced on the spot; jobs with hauling, material, or rock get a written, itemized price you approve before we start.

Do you require a deposit?

On larger projects, yes, and we'll explain it up front when we send the price. Smaller day-rate mulching jobs are generally handled without one.

What's the difference between forestry mulching and land clearing?

Mulching grinds brush and smaller trees in place and leaves the material on the ground as a layer of chips. Land clearing removes trees, stumps, and debris so the ground can be graded and built on. We do both, and a lot of jobs use some of each.

Are you insured?

Yes. S5 Earthworks is insured, and we're happy to talk through that when we meet on site.

Can one company really take a lot from trees to build-ready?

That's the point of how S5 is set up. Clearing, horizontal grinding, grading, and site prep all happen in-house with our own machines, so you're not scheduling and paying three different contractors to get to the same finish line.
