I'm Tyler Shook. S5 Earthworks is my land clearing, grinding, and grading company, based in Winder, Georgia.

Where S5 comes from

I started the company in 2018 to offer quality land clearing and give customers a top-notch finished product. I grew up around this industry watching my grandfather, who was in it for forty years, and I knew early on that this was the work I wanted to do.

From that start we grew into the range of work we do now: mulching, clearing, horizontal grinding, grading, and complete turnkey homesites that are ready to build on. Along the way we've worked for builders, developers, and a lot of property owners who just wanted their land opened up and done right.

In 2026 I gave the company the name S5 Earthworks. The people, the machines, and the standard are the same ones you'd have gotten before.

How I run the work

What to expect when you hire us

Call or submit the online form and we'll talk through the property and what you want done. Then I set a time to walk it with you. That walk is where the real conversation happens: which trees stay, where the house is going, what the ground is like, and what has to be hauled or brought in.

Simple mulching jobs I can often price right there on site. Anything with hauling, material, or rock I put together carefully afterward and send to you itemized, so you can see each piece of the scope and approve it. Larger projects generally carry a deposit, and I'll explain that up front.

On the job, you get the right equipment for the property. Skid steers and the forestry mulcher for mulching work; dozers, excavators, loaders, and the horizontal grinder for clearing, grinding, and grading. We work for builders on higher-end homes, for developers on subdivision sites, and for homeowners on one- and two-acre jobs, and every one of them gets the same standard.
